The Slovenian population represents 0.3 permille of the total world population. It is predicted that by 2024 the number in our country will grow, but it is estimated that by 2060, there will live less than 2 million people in Slovenia.

Regardless of the Slovenian population, the world situation is different. In the last 12 years, the number of people has increased by 1 billion. The Earth is facing overpopulation, which is followed by certain problems.
How is overpopulation connected with the environment?
The link between overpopulation and environmental impacts is very close. As a result, the Earth faces problems such as biodiversity loss, deforestation, land degradation and degradation of the environment.
Negative climate changes are the result of greenhouse gases, produced by the increased number of vehicles and industries that affect air quality. High levels of emissions lead to global warming. The melting of Arctic ice, changing climate patterns and different sea levels are just some of the consequences of environmental pollution.
