PRODUCT USE

Enjoy circular waste management and a waste-free lifestyle - turn bio-waste into a source of new life and eat natural and healthy home-grown food!

    1. Before putting the waste on the draining sieve in the composter, sprinkle 1 scoop of bio-waste bran.

    2. Throw the waste into the composter after cutting the larger pieces into smaller ones.

    3. Add 1 scoop of bran after each new layer of waste. For larger amounts of waste, add more bran. We suggest 20 ml per 5 cm of waste.

    4. Use the included levelling trowel to push the waste down and cover the composter with the lid and check that it is tight. The composter must be closed at all times. Only open it when you add waste into it.

    5. Drain the fermentation fluid every 3-5 days. Produced undiluted fermentation fluid is suitable for maintaining clean drains and cesspool hygiene, whereas diluted with water it is an excellent fertilizer for watering indoor and garden plants.

    6. When the composter is full, empty the waste mass into a bio-waste container, into a compost pile or bury it in the ground.

WHAT IS BOKASHI COMPOSTING?

The bokashi composting process makes food waste turn into bokashi is a process to make the best soil for your kitchen garden. Bokashi is a Japanese word for 'good fermented organic waste'. The keyword for this process is 'fermentation'. Effective micro-organisms help the fermentation process to take place and will help to make nutritious soil.

WHY BOKASHI COMPOSTING?

Bokashi composting is the best way to give organic waste a new purpose. Kitchen waste is a big part of the total waste produced by households and will most of the time end up in the garbage bin. In the garbage bin, it will start rotting and it will leave a very bad odor.

With bokashi composting, you can compost organic waste in the kitchen to create perfect compost and because of the fermentation process, it will not give any unpleasant smell or attract insects. The fermentation will give a liquid that can be used as nutrition for watering plants or as a biological drain cleaner.

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES?

Bokashi composting will make your life easier and your carbon footprint smaller. All the advantages of bokashi composting are listed below.

  • With bokashi, you can create nutritious compost in your kitchen

  • No unpleasant odor because of the effective microorganisms

  • Creating fermentation liquid good for nutrition for plants or as a natural drain cleaner

  • No need to go outside to throw away your organic waste

  • With bokashi, you do not need to buy garbage bags for organic waste

  • There is no CO2 emission with bokashi Organko

WHO CAN USE BOKASHI COMPOSTING?

Bokashi composting is for all people that want to create perfect compost at home. This can be for your little urban garden or for your semi-professional kitchen garden. Using bokashi is not only for people with green fingers because the process is easy and the result of using bokashi compost and fermentation liquid is significant.

HOW CAN YOU USE BOKASHI?

STEP 1: PREPARE ORGANIC WASTE

Almost all organic waste can be put into a composter. We recommend cutting bigger pieces into smaller ones to make the fermentation process easier. Use a ruler to push the waste into the composter.

STEP 2: ADD BRAN

Once per day put in your composter one measure of bran. Entirely natural bran causes fermentation processes.

STEP 3: WAIT FOR 14 DAYS

If we have a composter set, we leave the full composter closed for 14 days. We do not open it! We continue with dropping out the fermentation liquid.

STEP 4: DROPPING OUT THE FERMENTATION LIQUID

We close the composter so that the cover is tight. Every 3 to 5 days we drain out the fermentation liquid. We use the diluted liquid for watering.

STEP 5: COMPOST WASTE MASS

After 14 days we bury the fermentation waste mass in the ground and we place it on a compost bunch.
