On Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 11:00 AM, Velenje will once again come alive with compassion, connection, and good deeds. At one of the most heartfelt family events in Slovenia – the 11th Skaza Charity Run “Children for Children” – we will once again prove that the greatest victories are achieved when we help one another.
For many years, this event has brought together children, parents, friends, companies, and the wider community under a powerful message: “We win when we help each other.” This is not just a run, but a celebration of kindness, charity, and mutual support, where every step represents help for children who need opportunities, support, and encouragement for a brighter tomorrow.
The warm-up session will begin at 11:00 AM, followed by symbolic 200-meter and 800-meter runs intended for children, families, and everyone who wishes to become part of this charitable story. The event is not about athletic achievements, but about creating smiles, connecting people, and spreading kindness.
Since 2014, the Skaza Charity Run “Children for Children” has been building a tradition of solidarity and community connection in the local environment. Over the course of ten events, it has brought together more than 3,500 children, families, and supporters, while raising more than €151,050 to help children from vulnerable backgrounds.
“Children for Children is not just an event, but a story about the compassion of our community. When you help others, that is when you truly begin to win,” emphasizes Tanja Skaza, founder of the event, Director of the Skaza Institute, and co-owner of Skaza.
This year, we wanted to involve children even more in the event, which is why we also organized the “Skaza Stars” competition for young talents. As many as 29 young singers applied, and eight finalists will perform at the event, competing for the grand prize. However, the greatest victory will undoubtedly be the courage of these young talents and the support of the audience, as no one will go home empty-handed.
The event will also feature a rich program for all generations. Visitors can look forward to musical performances, children’s entertainment, dance performances, sports and creative workshops, delicious treats, refreshments, and a large raffle where every ticket wins.
By paying the €8 registration fee, participants, together with sponsors and donors, will contribute funds to organizations and associations that help children in need and support the development of their talents. Every young runner will also receive a gift bag and a medal.
