The signing of the European Plastics Pact was held in 2020 in Brussels, to provide additional encouragement and activities for reducing, reusing and processing disposable plastic products and packaging. A total of 15 countries and 66 organizations from all over Europe signed the pact, including our company. With this invitation to join the Pact, we were recognized as one of the leading companies in this field and an important partner in accelerating the transition to a circular economy.

The main purpose of the pact is to direct to the responsible use of plastic. It focuses primarily on the reuse and recycling of disposable plastic products and packaging and the use of recycled plastic. At the same time, it also has a supportive function, providing a unique platform for sharing ideas, presenting good practices and discussing the challenges needed to build a new circular management template that everyone else will follow.

The pact was initiated by the Netherlands and France, and more than eighty organizations participated in the drafting of the final text, including governments, companies, non-governmental organizations and business associations across Europe.

“By joining the European Pact for Plastic, we follow our vision of being among the top 10 eco-companies that set trends in the plastics industry. Our commitment to the goals of the Pact is actually a commitment to all future generations. We owe it to them to leave them a nicer, cleaner and healthier planet," said our CEO, Bart Stegeman, at the signing.
