How is a product created – from the first idea to the first parts leaving the injection moulding machine? In the latest issue of IRT3000 magazine, we share an insight into the development process at Skaza: from identifying a need, selecting the right material and developing a solution, to test series, validations and the moment when the first products leave the injection moulding machine.
The article also presents the work of our colleague Manca Krumpačnik, nominee for Engineer of the Year 2025, who focuses on material development, recycling and the growth of the compounding process. Through her work, she contributes to finding ways to reintroduce production waste and recyclates into useful materials and give them new value.
The Engineer of the Year initiative highlights 10 Slovenian women engineers each year, showcasing their work, expertise, and personal stories to inspire young people—especially girls—to pursue engineering studies and careers.
One of the nominees receives the Engineer of the Year award. The focus is not only on professional achievements, but also on the recipient’s ability to serve as a role model, inspire future generations, and promote the value of engineering in society.
