On Saturday, September 28, 2022, the seventh Skaza charity run Child to Child took place in Velenje, under the event name We win when we help each other. Young runners from different parts of Slovenia, with the support of their families and many famous faces, enthusiastically covered the running course and thereby collected funds for their peers in need. This year's donation amounts to 10,300 euros and is entirely intended for the Slovenian Association of Friends of Youth (SAFY) Velenje, which will be used to purchase school and other necessities for children, winter clothes and footwear, purchase food vouchers and pay basic living expenses.
The popular radio host Janko Simon Klanfer led the visitors through an unforgettable day, and Tanja Skaza, the initiator and host of the event, also took care of an extravagant measure of cordiality. The latter, together with Aleksandra Vasiljević, deputy mayor of the Municipality of Velenje, opened the official part of the event, followed by a warm-up with a dance group from the Rusalka Movement Center. Young DJs from the Mini DJ Academy and Dejan Dogaja cheered up the participants with musical points, and the accompanying program was provided by clubs from the local environment.
The highlight of the varied event, which was enriched by creative and sports workshops, animations and a rich raffle, was the handing over of the donation of the collected funds. Skaza dedicated the latter to Slovenian Association of Friends of Youth (SAFY) Velenje. The secretary, Bojana Špegel, thanked all the participants, and in particular highlighted the efforts of Skaza, which has always contributed to the local environment and encourages kindness and charity among the youngest.
The initiator and host of the event, Tanja Skaza, thanked the participants and everyone who contributed to the success of the event, and added: "I am grateful because I am surrounded by warm, happy and sincere people. When we decided to do the Skaza charity run seven years ago, I didn't know what we would gain, see, feel through the run. When I watched today 25 volunteers, our employees, how they were smiling and hearty and helped without hesitation, that is worth more than anything else to me. We reaffirm that we truly win when we help each other."
