In January 2024, France enacted a law mandating the separation of organic waste, including the distribution of new bins for organic waste across the country. The goal of the law is to increase recycling rates, reduce landfill burdens, and promote composting and other sustainable practices for handling organic waste. Skaza is coming to Maison & Objet to offer support to the French on their responsible journey and provide distributors with the opportunity to offer solutions to meet the legislation.

Meet the sustainable hero Organko Daily, awarded the Red Dot and Big See Product Design Awards and a finalist in the European Plastic Awards. A 3.3-liter container for daily collection of organic waste, made from 100% recycled plastic, it allows for the abandonment of plastic bags, easy emptying into organic waste bins, or the Bokashi Organko composter.
In Bokashi Organko, waste such as fruits, vegetables, coffee grounds, eggshells, meat, and bones are disposed of once a day. Microorganisms promoting fermentation are added, resulting in two by-products after 14 days. The first is a liquid for watering indoor or balcony plants, cleaning drains, and septic tanks. The second is a fermented mass, the basis for compost, enhancing soil microflora, resulting in better plant growth, higher-quality crops, and improved taste.
