Courage and honesty have always been our inner compasses, guiding us to act with heart—because when you work sincerely, the future recognizes it," emphasized Igor Skaza, owner and CEO of Plastika Skaza, in an interview with the American magazine Newsweek.
Newsweek selected Slovenia as the leading business and investment destination for 2026. In the extensive supplement Global Observer Country Report, they presented Slovenia’s business environment and the opportunities the country offers to foreign investors. The project was created in partnership with SBC – the Slovenian Business Club.
Among others, the report highlighted several successful members of SBC. One of them is Igor Skaza, who explained that Skaza has evolved from a traditional manufacturer into a leading innovator in sustainability.
"Twenty years ago, we launched our own brand focused on sustainability and began developing the first composter for our market. It’s about transforming waste into value. Sustainability is not a product—it is a decision we make every day. This journey also reflects the changes in Slovenia, where appreciation for our environment has encouraged new mindsets in both businesses and society. We express these values through our own products, which allow us to show our true identity instead of quietly operating in the background as just another industrial supplier."
"I try to approach every challenge with a positive mindset, make decisions quickly, and look for solutions rather than obstacles. The courage to create our own brand was crucial, and a major turning point was when my wife joined the company. Through our products, we wanted to show who we are. Sustainability is more than a goal—it is my way of life and the way Skaza breathes," he explained, adding:
