This year marks the 10th anniversary of Skaza’s “Child to Child” charity run – a celebration of community, compassion, and solidarity. When children run for other children, they run for a more just, connected, and kind-hearted tomorrow.
This year, the values of solidarity and support will once again take center stage. We invite you to join us on Sunday, 25 May 2025. Registration begins at 9:30 AM, with the run starting at 10:00 AM in front of the Skaza company headquarters in Velenje. This year’s edition is particularly special, as it will be held under the honorary patronage of the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr. Nataša Pirc Musar, who will personally attend the event.
“The Child to Child charity run brings together values I deeply care about – physical activity, solidarity, and encouraging active citizenship from an early age. When I saw the enthusiasm with which children participate, there was no doubt – I wanted to support the run with an opening address.”
– Dr. Nataša Pirc Musar, President of the Republic of Slovenia

Three Stories. One Chance to Make a Difference
As in previous years, all funds raised will support children who need encouragement, opportunity, or simply a safe space to grow and trust.
Part of the donations will go to the Alma Foundation for the project “Od Alje do Žana,” which offers support to children and young people struggling with mental health. The event will also support Vidim cilj Foundation, led by Alen Kobilica, which empowers children with developmental challenges through sport. The third recipient is Azra Zulić, a talented young athlete who will receive a Skaza scholarship to continue her athletic journey.
“I sincerely thank the company Skaza for dedicating part of the funds raised to the Alma Foundation for psychosocial support of children,” emphasized Dr. Nataša Pirc Musar, President of the Republic of Slovenia.
Support from the State Matters
“The state has a duty to support such initiatives – not just through formal recognition, but through example. Events like this one in Velenje are born in the hearts of communities. The role of the state is to help them grow and gain visibility,” said Dr. Nataša Pirc Musar, President of the Republic of Slovenia.
Compassion is not a given – it’s a value we grow together
One of the most important aims of the “Child to Child” run is developing empathy – encouraging solidarity that children experience through movement and shared moments. These events are not only fun and active; they send a powerful message that even the youngest can contribute to change.
“Compassion is not something we can take for granted – it’s a value that must be nurtured. When children learn through play and movement that their actions can help others, we build a society that will one day be more just, more united, and more humane,” adds Dr. Nataša Pirc Musar, President of the Republic of Slovenia.
More than just a run – a day for connection
In addition to the 200 m and 800 m charity runs, the event offers a vibrant program for the whole family: a performance by the band Game Over, sets by young DJs from Mini DJ Academy, creative workshops, sports games, entertainment, culinary treats, and all-round family fun.
The registration fee is 8 EUR, and each young runner will receive a gift bag, t-shirt, and medal.

We win when we help each other
A simple but powerful closing message from Dr. Nataša Pirc Musar, President of the Republic of Slovenia, to all those taking part:
“Every step counts. When you run for someone else, you’re running for a better shared future. Thank you to all the children, parents, and the employees of Skaza – through actions like these, you’re building a Slovenia we can all be proud of.”
