Skaza proudly accepts the BIG SEE Award for Organko Daily

Precious artistic creations are stored in family legacies and museums, but every product, regardless of its industrial nature, carries a deeply rooted story of contemplation, inspiration, and care in its making. The Design Week is a time to honor and celebrate this creativity. Before the Slovenian BIG SEE Awards for design were even given, the organizer of the Big See Design Week posed a significant question: »What impression will we leave on future generations in museums?« Among the awardees significantly contributing to the elevation of product design quality, Skaza stands out this year as the recipient of the prestigious BIG SEE Award. With its dedication to sustainability and innovation, Skaza not only answers this question but also sets new standards shaping a sustainable present and predicting its future.

The awarded 3.3-liter waste bin Organko Daily is made from 100% recycled material, offering a solution to the growing problem of plastic waste in the modern world. Moreover, Organko Daily has also received the prestigious Red Dot Design Award 2023, confirming its functionality and outstanding design.

Niko Medved, Deputy Director of Skaza, remarked upon receiving the award, »Awards reinforce our progress in setting trends and solidify our position in sustainable development. I am proud that the commission has confirmed for the second time this year that Organko Daily is functional, high-quality, and well-designed.«

Still using plastic bags for organic waste? Seriously?

  • In 2022, the world produced 400 million tons of plastic packaging waste. Predictions indicate a plastic tsunami, foreseeing 600 million tons of packaging waste by 2030. That's enough plastic to cover the entire Germany.
  • Let's consider some more facts: every year, billions of plastic bags are used worldwide. Yes, you read that right! In 2021 alone, an incredible 5 trillion bags were used.
  • Research shows that the production of plastic increases every year, and by 2050, it could surpass the number of fish in the seas if we don't act now. Recycling plastic is crucial to reduce this drastic environmental impact.
  • And here's a more shocking fact: in 2023, we've already depleted natural resources for the entire year by mid-August! This means our planet can no longer sustain our unlimited consumption, as we are exceeding its regenerative capabilities.

Each Individual's Ecological Footprint

We can at least slow down the destruction and depletion of the only planet where we can live. And who can do it other than each individual who joins a movement not following trends but creating shifts?

  • Say goodbye to plastic bags and hello to Organko Daily waste bin.
  • Reduce single-use plastic consumption.
  • Choose sustainable packaging.
  • Recycle, reuse.

Organko Daily represents Skaza's commitment to engage the entire planet in its sustainable vision if we want to preserve our home for current and future generations. Made from 100% recycled material, Organko Daily is the result of researching habits and challenges faced by consumers. They often don't have a compost bin readily available, so they store organic waste in unsuitable containers, which is impractical and not eco-friendly. Organko Daily solves this problem with its functionality, including one-handed opening, dishwasher suitability up to 55°C, a large opening for easier filling, and a removable lid for easier cleaning. Users also no longer throw plastic bags in brown bins because they don't belong there. It seamlessly fits any kitchen interior, and alongside the existing colors (gray and black), Skaza plans to launch a new range of colors in January, allowing consumers to choose the most suitable color for their kitchen.

»This is Skaza's first family of composting products made from 100% recycled plastic, with a large portion being post-consumer recyclate. The material is stable and doesn't require additional additives. We've sold tens of thousands of pieces throughout Europe, the US, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand, gaining customers' trust. We believe that modern consumers, increasingly choosing sustainable products, will quickly turn to award-winning products. This fills us with optimism for expansion into new markets in the future. I believe Organko Daily can be beneficial to every household, as it's an exceptionally practical product, also suitable for those just beginning their sustainability journey,« added Niko Medved.
