A few days ago, we experienced an event at Plastika Skaza that reminded all of us just how much of a difference one person can make.
When a fire broke out on the roof of one of our facilities, Aleksandra and Andrej noticed the smoke and immediately alerted the fire department. Thanks to their quick thinking and prompt action, firefighters were able to respond in time, contain the fire, and prevent what could have become significantly greater damage. Most importantly, no one was injured.
At the time, we didn't know who these two people were. Even after we publicly invited them to come forward, they chose to remain anonymous. After a few days, however, we managed to find them ourselves.
We had the privilege of thanking them in person
As a small token of our sincere appreciation, we presented them with a symbolic recognition, because people who selflessly step in to help others deserve far more than just the words "thank you."
We would also like to once again express our heartfelt gratitude to all the firefighters whose professionalism, swift response, and dedication ensured that thisstory had the outcome we had all hoped for.
At a time when we are often surrounded by negative news, it's important to share the positive stories too—stories that restore our faith in people.
