Carbon footprint reduction starts with every individual person in our company

A carbon footprint is the total amount of all greenhouse gas emissions that are directly or indirectly generated by an individual, organization, country, event, product or service.

At Plastika Skaza, we try our best to live by our values on a daily basis, where, in addition to courage, responsibility, progress and relationships, we place a huge emphasis on sustainability. Social responsibility of an individual or organization can be the first step towards reducing emissions in the environment, so in accordance with our company's vision, we determined the carbon footprint of our company in previous years. A carbon footprint is an indicator used to illustrate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Scope 1 represents direct GHG emissions from sources owned or controlled by the company, scope 2 represents emissions from purchased electricity and energy for heating, while scope 3 represents other indirect emissions. As regards our company's carbon footprint from scopes 1 and 2, electricity plays a key role. Since we have been supplying electricity exclusively from low-carbon, renewable energy sources for several years, our carbon footprint from scopes 1 and 2 is approx. 90% lower than it would have been had it been sourced from the Slovenian energy mix.

Currently, the company's main focus is to reduce emissions from scopes 1 and 2 and later from scope 3, which represents more than 95% of the company's carbon footprint.
